(Summer Discipleship Opportunity)

Do you ever wonder why Christians, even mature believers, still sin so often? Why doesn’t God set us free? Despite our desire to be changed, too often we wonder if we are a disappointment to God because it seems the more we are growing in our faith, the more we are aware of how much sin is still a part of our lives. This summer, let’s explore some of these questions through a summer book study of Extravagant Grace.

Speaking from her own struggles, author Barbara Duguid turns to the writings of John Newton to teach us God’s purpose for our failure and guilt. Her empathetic, honest approach lifts our focus from our own performance back to the God who is bigger than all our failures and who, amazingly, uses these very things to bring glory to Himself. Rediscover how God’s extravagant grace makes the gospel once again feel like the good news it truly is. Books can be purchased for about $11.00.

Each chapter has insightful questions which will be the focus of our discussion as we gather each week. If you would be interested in participating in such a study over the summer months, please contact Joan Richwine for further details. We anticipate that this will probably begin the week of June 10; we will set the day and time when we hear back from you. I hope many of you will join me as we grow together in God’s grace this summer. – Joan Joan’s phone number: 540) 220-7865 email: jlrlow@aol.com
